 ee!\n\nThe routes will be marshalled\n\n'Beating the Bounds' was a practic
 e carried out to ensure the knowledge of parish boundaries was maintained 
 and passed from generation to generation. This involved swatting local lan
 dmarks with branches to maintain a shared mental map of parish boundaries.
 \n2024 marks the 50th Birthday of both the Town Council and Wokingham Lion
 s Club\, so they are joining forces to bring this ancient tradition to lif
 e.\nThere's a route for everyone!\nThe 3 routes will intercept the boundar
 y at various locations and will be marked by wooden boundary markers with 
 “beating sticks” under the supervision of event stewards.\nRoute 1: Th
 e longest walk is 13 miles and follows most of the perimeter of Wokingham 
 Town Council’s administrative area (the exact boundary cannot be walked 
 due to inaccessibility in some areas.)\nRoute 2: A 7 miles walk taking in 
 parts of the Town Council boundary that involves more countryside walking 
 for you to enjoy. This route will include all of the planned “beating”
  posts.\nRoute 3: A 2 mile route which encompasses part of the 7 mile rout
